Version Notes

ScarScript is actively developed. Check GitHub Releases  for the version to install, and consult the repository changelog when upgrading.

Current release: v1.0.2

See GitHub Releases  for the v1.0.2 release notes and downloads.

v1.0.1

The project changelog describes v1.0.1 as a bug-fix release. It includes a fix for global variable access from named functions:

  • Top-level const declarations and val declarations initialized with literals can be referenced from functions.
  • Mutable globals and val declarations with non-literal initializers remain isolated from named functions.
  • Compiler output was updated so supported top-level values are available to generated functions.

v1.0.0

The first stable release introduced the statically typed language, type inference, multiple return values, closures, the dec type, built-in modules, and the scar run / scar build CLI.

Compatibility policy

The repository’s migration notes describe patch releases as non-breaking, minor releases as feature additions with deprecation notice, and major releases as the point where breaking changes may be introduced. Check the current release notes before upgrading.
