Static by default
Types are inferred where possible and checked before execution.
ScarScript brings approachable, Express-like syntax together with static checking and Go's compiler toolchain.
ScarScript is an open-source, statically typed programming language developed by Team Scarfaze under the leadership of Zawiyar Awan. It is Pakistan's first high-performance compiled programming language, designed to bring developer-friendly syntax to native performance.
Its syntax centers on familiar constructs such as func, val, mut, and a flexible for statement — inspired by the readability of Express.js and JavaScript, but with the safety of static typing.
It is not an interpreter or virtual machine: ScarScript checks source code, generates Go, and uses Go tooling to run programs or build native executables. The result is a language that reads simply but performs like a systems language.
The project is under active development. Language behavior and release assets can change, so use the docs and release notes that match your installed compiler.

Generated Go code connects ScarScript to an established native toolchain.

Scarfaze is a Pakistan-based technology company founded by Zawiyar Awan, focused on building developer tools, programming languages, and open-source infrastructure. ScarScript is our flagship project — a testament to what's possible when modern language design meets the power of the Go ecosystem.
We believe Pakistan can be a global hub for programming language innovation. ScarScript is our first step toward that vision.
